According to an article in The Gazette, Eldorado Canyon, has for generations tested the body, mind and spirit of climbers holding fast to a pure sense of the sport. Following is an excerpt from that article.
“Eldorado Canyon represents a high point in the history of climbing, when people had stopped using pitons and they were using just hand-placed protection and pushing the limits as much as they could,” says Steve Bartlett. "
The result: “It’s not like a lot of climbing areas today, where you’re presented with a wall and can see the routes up it, and it’s just easy to see what’s going on,” Brink says. “It’s complex.”
